Transformers War for Cybertron takes players to the time of the conflict between the Autobots and Decepticons, prior to the events of the previous installments. This production is completely unrelated to subsequent cinematic adaptations of the popular saga of the conflict between robots, and the plot serves as an introduction to the events of the previous games. The action takes place on the robots' fully mechanized home planet, Cybertron, engulfed for millions of years by a devastating war between the Autobots and Decepticons. In subsequent missions, the player assumes the role of the Transformers characters known from the films.
There are two campaigns that can be played in any order. The first offers the opportunity to fight for the Decepticons, seeking to acquire Black Energon, which will ultimately allow their ruler, Megatron, to win the war and gain unlimited power. In the second, you'll fight for the Autobots and try to stop their eternal rivals. In addition to the campaign, which can be played solo or with a friend, there's also "Escalation Mode eliminating successive waves of attacking opponents) and six multiplayer modes Deathmatch, Team Fight, Conquest, Code of Power, Countdown to Destruction, and Battle) for influence.
