Borderlands 4 is the latest installment in Gearbox Software's acclaimed looter-shooter series, taking the chaotic, over-the-top action for which the series is renowned to a whole new level. Set on the mysterious and oppressive planet Kairos, the game introduces players to a world ruled by a powerful and mysterious tyrant known as the Time Keeper, whose control over time brings a dark twist to the story. Players take on the role of one of four all-new Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities, skill trees, and playstyles designed to suit a wide range of combat preferences and strategies. Unlike previous games, Borderlands 4 features a seamless open world with interconnected areas, dynamic events, and a heavy emphasis on exploration, parkour, and vertical traversal, thanks to new movement mechanics such as double-jumping, wall-climbing, sliding, and grappling. The signature Borderlands arsenal returns, with billions of procedurally generated weapons, equipment, and customization options to loot, tweak, and master. Co-op has also been expanded, allowing up to four players to team up with full cross-play support, level synchronization, and drop-in/drop-out mechanics.
