Transformers War for Cybertron transports players into the conflict between the Autobots and Decepticons, which takes place before the events of the previous games. This production has absolutely nothing to do with subsequent cinematic adaptations of the famous robot conflict saga, and the plot serves as a prequel to the events of the previous games. The action takes place on the fully automated robots' home planet, Cybertron, which has been ravaged by a devastating war between the Autobots and Decepticons for millions of years. In later missions, players take on the role of well-known mutant characters from the films.
