Counter Strike Source is a remastered version of Counter-Strike using the Source game engine. The objective of playing a map is to achieve its objective: defuse the bomb, rescue all hostages, or kill the entire opposing team. The ultimate goal is to win more rounds than the opposing team. Once players are killed, they only respawn for the next round, although this depends on the server they are playing on. This gameplay feature distinguishes Counter-Strike from other first-person shooters, where players respawn immediately or after a short period. Firing while moving significantly reduces accuracy, and holding the trigger while firing continuously causes severe recoil. The severity of weapon damage depends on the specific hit locations, with headshots being the most lethal, while shots that touch other locations cause less health loss. Damage is also affected by distance and whether the target is wearing protection.
